Everybunny needs somebunny sometimes

Advertisements

I don’t remember how or when I first saw those bunny sneakers, but I fell  in love at once. I didn’t remember the name of the designer, but I knew that one day I will have my all family wearing the matching bunny sneakers.

Aren’t these the coolest and sweetest things?

Although my family will probably not be wearing these cool sneakers too soon, the prices are ca 300 euro per pair and well…it is just too much for me. But they will stay on the wishlist (together with the “Egg” chair and Poul Henningsen lamp). One is allowed to dream!

Anyway.

The shoes are designed by a Finnish designer Minna Parikka. Once she fell down the rabbit hole and chose the world of shoe design at the age of 15, Minna started chasing her dreams. She moved to England at 19 to pursue a degree in footwear design, spending the next six years living, working and finding inspiration in London, Milan and Barcelona. In 2005 she returned to her native Helsinki to launch the Minna Parikka brand (read more on www.minnaparikka.com).

“MY DESIGNS ARE LIKE LOVE LETTERS FROM ONE SHOE LOVER TO ANOTHER. LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO TAKE STYLE TOO SERIOUSLY,” she states on her homepage.  Me like! Two thumbs up. Don’t you agree?

I have always been an admirer of ageless Finnish design, and actually the colourful modern things are usually not my cup of tea, but Minna Parikka design is just so playful and cool that you have to love it. *drooling over bunny sneakers*
